The Agent’s Note
A curated directory of rental properties
A key directory, kept like a viewing journal.
Rentals Catalogue began as a board of brass keys in a small letting office — each tag stamped with a number, each number tied to a door worth opening. Over the years the board grew, and the room became this: a rental property directory read as a viewing journal, the way an agent keeps a binder of the best listings they have walked through.
It is not a feed of every available flat. It is a curated catalogue of 39 rental properties — entire places, shared rooms, apartments, old villas, and short-term lets — each reviewed in person, each filed with a floor plan, a key number, and a note from a previous tenant. The metaphor is simple: every listing is a door, and every door has a key.
The six screens
The homepage reads as six screens, each a different way of seeing a listing. Showcase Posters are the front window. The Key Directory Wall hangs ten brass keys, each with a floor-plan card. The Floor-Plan Corridor pairs blueprints with real photographs. The Blinds Gallery lets you drag the cord to reveal a room. Panorama Spheres are 360-degree mini-globes you can spin. And the Tenant Board collects sticky notes left by previous tenants — flip one to see the listing behind it.
How to read it
Begin anywhere. Hover a showcase poster to feel the blinds move. Lift a key from the wall to see its card. Drag a blind cord to let the light in. Spin a panorama sphere to look around. Flip a sticky note to read the listing behind it. Click anything to enter the detail page — a full gallery, a floor plan, the key specifications, a hand-drawn map of the surroundings, and related listings.
The detail pages
Each detail page opens with a full-width gallery carousel — living room, bedroom, kitchen, balcony — with thumbnail navigation and keyboard support. Below sits an information card pairing a labelled floor plan with the key specs: room count, area, orientation, floor, monthly rent, build year, and move-in date. A centred description column tells you how the light moves through the space. A hand-drawn map marks the nearest metro, market, and park. And a horizontal scroll of related listings rounds out the page.
